Why applying for jobs, if it professional to put in the e-mail with my CV, & resume to say “unfortunately due to the unpredictable hours at my current place of employment I can’t take calls during the day. Please e-mail me to arrange a time to for a phone call.”
My current job have weird unpredictable hours, so it hard to confirm anything.

If you have functioning voicemail, just let it go to message and then return the call as soon as you can within standard business hours.

Don’t do that. Just let it go to voicemail and call them back. You sound like a complainer if you put that in the email.

Nah, I wouldn’t. Just have to deal with it for the time being and remember any inconvenience at the current job is nothing in the grand scheme of things.
You gotta do you and if that means answering a phone call and stepping outside during your current job...

Just let it roll to VM and call them back. Also, make sure you don’t have some ridiculous email address. If you do, make one that sounds more professional

My e-mail is professional, (last name)(first name)24@gmail.com. Unlike my old hotmail, it is used as a junk e-mail address.

I can’t remember the last time my first point of contact with a potential employer was the phone. Although I’m in the software industry. It’s 201...7. Put your email and tell them to pick whichever they prefer. Call them back if you miss their call.

If the bathroom was well insulated, you hear everything that happen in there sadly. They hear me in the phone, and I get in shit.

you got all of 15 minutes before folks get worried and send a search party, or turn the lights out on you. and if they do rush in after you just say you need a minute.
or answer the phone “yes mother? youre stranded where?” as you plug your other ear and walk outside.
OR fully disclose to your manager that you have applications out, and that you are expecting their call, and that you intend to take the call..........

Who does phone calls anymore? VM is fine if it happens, just head outside on a break and return the call. Otherwise, email should do it. And yeah - email should be firstname.lastname@gmail.com ...

firstname.lastname@gmail.com was taken.

My HR professional wife says, “just say that email is the best way to contact you. Don’t give the explanation on the resume. “
